As of yesterday, I have reached the limits of my tolerance.
I believed, since 2016, that the best way to move forward was to attempt to find common ground between me and people who did not share my beliefs.
I thought that if you found a meeting place where you could agree, than you could have an ally rather than an enemy.
This worked for about 5 years.
I am now convinced that the other side (everyone who insists that the pandemic is over) is irredeemable and there is no common ground.
It extends far beyond the original distaste for people who embraced Donald Trump, and now encompasses 99% of the people who I formerly viewed as conscious, primarily because of Covid.
I am now cutting out fitness professionals, doctors, dentists, teachers, activist groups, environmental groups, and anyone else who is not taking Covid seriously and contrary to how it may seem, my life is not diminished in any way by this action.
Knowing that I am no longer encumbered by callous, uncaring people has set me free. I am embracing the Covid conscious communities and I had the most amazing sense of inclusion and belonging, something I have not experienced in a long time, when I decided to focus my energies on the CC world.
The thing I like the most is that they’re walking the walk, not just giving lip service to the concepts of care and concern.
They’re standing up when everyone else is sitting down.
They have courage, integrity, and strength, virtues that have been abandoned by the rest of society, and they back this up with every action they take.
…and there’s not a MAGA supporter among them.
The part about how there's not a MAGAt supporter among them is what SELLS this.
